Time is a construct; one that just exists in a void of perceived reality. The events that happen in our lives are the result of multiple microscopic decisions made in our lifetimes. It is a factor of opportunity cost that for every action, there is a missed opportunity. Nothing in this world is guaranteed because even the predictable has the possibility to change. Pragmatism is a safety net that protects the ego but does not factually solidify the outcomes of a given circumstance.
In a way we can brace ourselves for any number of results which may occur to a situation. For life is just one massive enigma comprised of smaller anomalies. When one rolls the dice in the game of life, the probability of the desired outcome is 50/50. No one can control the moves of other players, but analyzing their patterns of behavior is how the board can be assessed. We all have a set of rules which we play by and a goal which we are working towards.
Much like in any contest, you have to play to win. There are parameters to follow, but a gamble is always made. The beauty of choice is that a lesson can be learned from each one. With each rookie mistake, one’s strategy improves. People are far from all knowing, but knowing that the unknown is pending is one step in the right direction of wisdom.
