Perception is subjective, as we all wear our own set of three dimensional glasses. Although blue and red make purple, the way light filters through the lenses of the eyes change the colors created in our brains. Like a roll of film, our lives are made up of fast moving pictures. Every moment is fleeting and each memory captured in the camera of the mind. Where some of us see some version of reality, others live in a monochromatic dystopia.
This oppression is not physical, it is a mental torture. Observing the set of the world around you, and watching the scenes of others, it feels as if your plot line is restricted by external expectations. Comparisons are detrimental bullet wounds that slowly deteriorate one’s morale. The main character becomes secondary to their co-stars as the narrative changes. We all have a story, a vision of reality, and the rendering of the way we appear in the movie of life.
The projection of oneself may be black and white or technicolor depending on the eye of the viewer. Each time the film is played, the plot changes depending on our experiences. Characters are round and develop with time just like the images that are captured to reveal a specific moment. If we were static, there would be no story. The theater of life is where stories are told, and the spectators will always be present taking in the scene.
