Pushing Past the Pistachio Mindset

Many concepts exist that the mind and eye can not comprehend: dark matter, spirits, and unexplainable conditions. We perceive reality as a stream of moments weaved together, and truth be told that events occur which are difficult to elaborate on. When we simplify our understanding of what is, we open our eyes to what could be. For instance, the world appears immense, like the shell of a pistachio; upon closer examination, it is the size of the nut itself.

People tend to confine themselves to facts and what is in front of their noses; this form of limited thinking incarcerates one’s universal energy field.

“Matching energy is why everyone is miserable… you don’t clean dirt with dirt.”- Unknown

Learning to challenge one’s paradigms is essential to becoming who you truly want to be. Society’s boundaries are the ball and chain around your ankle shackling your heart from achieving the unthinkable. One of the extraordinary epiphanies we can have is to recognize that the more we learn and experience, the clearer it becomes that we know nothing.

“Surround yourself with the dreamers and doers, the rebels of the status quo, the trouble makers of the ordinary, the wonder-makers, freedom-seekers, jail-breakers, the unreasonable earth-quakers and dust-shakers, the ones who believe that the impossible exists only to be attempted, the crazies and creative warriors, the ones who ask why-not instead of why, the I-can’t-believe-I-f*ing-did-it sort of people… and learn to dance and howl and re-create your life along with them. You may be crazy, yes, but you are NOT alone.” - Andrea Balt

We let the world’s weight sit on our shoulders because of the limitations we put on ourselves and the expectations that others have of us. People who live life from a place of vehemence are seen as impulsive, but maybe there is a bit of truth to their madness. The what-if path is to the multiverse in the same way that unseen possibilities could be to the lives of individuals willing to take risks. Often putting it all on the line has an adverse effect on people, and it is ill-advised to put all your eggs in one basket, but what are you doing if you are not even willing to try? In life, you have to advocate for your destiny; it may seem crazy, but you have the power to write your own story.

When we learn to stop fearing what is beyond our understanding, it is like finding the door to Narnia. Accepting that there are forces more significant than ourselves allows the opportunity to present itself in ways it wouldn’t otherwise. Don’t be fearful of the unknown, but be frightful of the comfortable limit keeping you from what you don’t see.
