Recurring Reflections

The adage history repeats can often be seen in different aspects of life. For instance, patterns of numerology, astrology, and psychology. The human mind likes to rationalize every situation and as a result it reflects in behavior that affects society as a whole. Karl Marx put it best,
“ History repeats itself, first as a tragedy, second as a farce.”
In today’s day and age, the new fad is to get distracted by the semantics and flamboyance that revolve around toxic independency that lead to the degradation of society.
Individually, we all have our own set of moral prerogatives and experiences that influence our actions. Every behavior starts with a thought, that turns into a dream, until you wake up and decide to execute it. Even the subconscious habits were formed from a pattern that originated somewhere along a person’s timeline. It is when we take the time to reflect and plan who we want to be, then persist in those actions with consistency, that we can reach our maximum potential. The key to execution is to quit finding excuses: plan SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely) and focus on the reason to change your patterns.
Part of breaking patterns comes from letting others in. Our society has become corrupted by egoism and as such we have lost the ability to empathize and rationalize with those around us. It is no longer about the we, but a ,” what do I get out of it?”. There is a fear of commitment towards working with others and wanting to work because “I am too good for it”. This desensitization did not occur overnight, and it is a societal obligation to rectify this misguided paradigm.
