Straight Insanity

When two people are confined to a space comparison is a tendency. It is human nature to differentiate things into categories to make sense of the world, but when putting individuals next to each other the story changes. Each of us has unique traits that make us stand out, and it is these distinctions that make the human experience have such variability. Take identical twins for instance, they may look the same but can have opposing personalities and interests. When we recognize the eccentricities that lie within each of us, it becomes apparent that the multifarious mannerisms we display result from our disposition.

Our habits determine the consequences that unfold before us; these patterns stem from experiences that go beyond the conscious mind. Even when we recognize the repeated behaviors, how they formed in the first place can often determine if we choose to break the cycle or not. Sometimes we sabotage ourselves as a mechanism of fending off comparison and trying to conform to society. It is much easier to hide behind a heard than to stand out and be the one and only. The problem with this way of thinking is that as David Goggin’s so eloquently wrote,

“You are in danger of living a life so comfortable and soft, that you will die without ever realizing your true potential”.

Even when we break through our own mental limits, there is always an internal war we must fight.

To fear being uncommon amongst the common is natural, but not necessary. It is an internal drive to follow your heart and push past what you think others expect that allows growth to happen. When we confine ourselves to the shackles of presuppositions from external factors there is an automatic set of blinders placed on one’s ability to manifest their own reality. By blocking the energy to envision one’s goals, the ability to take action is stunted. To find the straight path of success, we must break the barricades of insanity in our heads  that comes from the negativity of society and focus on channeling that negativity into a fire that creates a growth mindset.
