When It Clicks, the Other Shoe Drops

The axiom “all is fair in love and war” typically embodies the reactions experienced by those that have been struck by the conventions of attraction. It is this magnetizing force of invisible electrons that crackle so intensely that your heart feels like a piece of chocolate melting in an intense heat. Symptoms might include sensations of inexplicable giddiness that often lead to lack of rationalization of clarity. Euphoric waves wash over your body leaving you like the sand following the tide of an ocean after being hit.

Rules that normally would be considered common place still apply with the addition of the idea that anything goes. Sometimes situations just have the “pinch me” sensation, but then reality rears its ugly head. The discovery of something unpleasant jolts you awake like a classic episode of sleep walking where it was too good to be true. Love is tightrope: we walk with one foot in front of the other and the end in sight, but there is always this unsettling unpredictability. Forcing a connection only leads to a catastrophic power outage while letting the currents of a relationship flow generate a luminous circuit of affection and respect.
